Pension Credit is a benefit for older people that many people are entitled to but don’t know about so don’t claim. The government reports that there is £1.7billion in unclaimed Pension Credit. Many people have applied previously and not been entitled, but have had changes in circumstances that mean they are now entitled but don’t realise. Pension credit can act as a passport to other benefits, so it is always worth checking if you are entitled, even if you have been told no in the past.
